My name is Michael Hoffman. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Oregon, teacher, and author with 25 years experience in counseling. In addition to my local counseling practice in Bend, Oregon, I also provide consulting to out of state clients via online video conferencing.
I offer counseling, on-line classes, and intensive workshops to enjoy the life you would have for themselves. I utilize psychotherapy, meditation, Native American ceremony, rites of passage, sharing circles, dream interpretation, and other experiential modalities for people to directly experience their essence and natural way of being.
I completed my Master's Degree Social Work at Boise State University in 1997 with an focus on direct practice. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 1987. I started my post-graduate career at Intermountain Hospital of Boise for seven years which provided a foundation for the paradigm of mental health and psychology. Since then I have worked as a clinical social worker in private practice, mental health clinics, chemical dependency programs, and with Marines at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton.
I also formally trained with Bart Anderson, a Spiritual Teacher, Zen Master, and Shaman from 1985 to 2007. I was trained in meditation, Native American ceremony, rites of passage, Zen Buddhism, and Jungian symbolism. This training also guided me to address my emotional issues and increase my awareness so I could be clear and empathetic in my work with clients.
My 2013 book, Your Natural Gift: Offering the Essence of Your Heart is a guide to walk people through unfolding their natural gift. My second book, Natural Way of Being, will be published in the spring of 2018. It encourages you to find your natural way of being that allows you to walk with your heart open and as part of a whole. It guides you to liberate yourself from the fear, beliefs, and loss that inhibit the natural way of being. The Natural Way of Being workshops and online classes are the experiential versions of my upcoming book. They allow participants to integrate and apply the natural way of being to relationship, community, and creating the life you would have for yourself.
I currently live in Bend, Oregon with my family.
Check out this website and subscribe to the Natural Way of Being newsletter which includes my blog and ongoing updates about online classes and workshops. The guidance and support you need may just be a click away, and all of these experiences are designed to aid your awareness and understanding of things often encountered when offering your natural gift and unfolding your natural way of being.
