Feeling trapped is not a pleasant feeling. Oppression comes from the inability to see the possibilities available to you. So being trapped ultimately is an illusion. But when you are in the middle of it, it sure feels real- and hopeless.
The first thing to understand is that the source of the oppression is inside of you. You could argue that clearly your job or boss is oppressing you. At one level this is true. But there is something inside of you that is allowing the job, coworker, boss, or ex- to oppress you. This thing is a mistaken belief about yourself in relation to the world. You acquired this belief from a past experience. I call this karma or unfinished business.
It's Wednesday. Wake up. It's time to orchestrate your weekend. I know you are tired, but people are counting on you. Your significant other needs some romantic time. Your kids need to be exposed to new experiences. Your friend needs to meet for a cup of coffee or a beer- don't forget to call. And you need some time to develop that passion that you have been feeling. Some you time.

I watched a story on ABC's This Week Sunday morning where George Clooney is working with commercial satellites to expose human rights abuses in Sudan (link). It is called the Satellite Sentinel Project (link). He has found his true calling (we just thought it was acting). Also, you may have heard that Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are traveling around the world and urging billionaires to contribute half of their wealth to change the world. Many are doing it.
Well, few of us have the wealth, resources, and influence as those people- but our offering is no less profound or important. Clooney, Gates, and Buffet are doing what makes sense for them to do. There is something that makes sense for you to do. You have unique gifts that you are blessed with. You have skills that you have developed. You have
