A Seat at the Table
Aug 12, 2022Video Summary:
In last week's video, I used the metaphor of a tender sprout to represent a new aspect of ourselves. This could include being part of the community, speaking our truth, or walking with our hearts open. This week I want to talk about considering this new aspect when we're making decisions in our lives.
A fun way to think of this is to see all the different aspects of yourself sitting around a conference table at a board meeting. And so when we are making a decision, each of these aspects has a voice and we consider it.
What if you gave this new aspect of yourself a seat at the table? When you put it at the conference table, it gets a voice.
Then you can ask yourself: What does my heart want? Or... what does my inner child want? What does my spiritual practice want? What does my newly empowered self want?
It means so much to this new part of yourself when it's heard. It reminds me of a little kid that wants to show you something, and you take a minute out of your day to check it out. The child immediately feels heard and loved. You went into their world and showed them some consideration.
Surely you can do this for this new aspect of yourself.
