Feeling as Guidance

This video is about receiving guidance from your feelings on how to move through the world. These feelings often come to us early on in an experience. It’s accessing that first, pure feeling before we think about it- that initial, gut feeling.

I want to talk about three different types of these pure feelings that can guide you about whether a situation or space is a good place for you to go.

The first is a feeling of being drawn toward. It could be a feeling of attraction, interest, or curiosity. It might be a sense of inquisitiveness and wanting to know more about something. This feeling is a sign that it's a good place for you to be- a safe and growth-inducing place for you.

The second one is a feeling of pulling away. If the first one was attraction, this would be repulsion. Your heart is telling you, “I don't really want to be here.” Or, “That's not a place I want to go.” This is typically guidance from your feelings and your heart that it’s not a good place for you to be.

The third one is more of an ambivalent or indifferent feeling about a space. You could go there or not go there. It doesn't feel like it matters that much one way or another. Usually, this is a sign that there may be nothing more for you to learn in this space. It sometimes feels like your feel spiritually bored.

If you like me, you may decide this indifferent feeling is not a place you really want to stay either. It's not as essential that you get out of it as fast as the pulling away feeling. It's more like, “I'm kind of bored. I think I'm going to try something else," or "Remind me not to come back to this space again."

So it's raising your standards on what you want to experience in life. It's wondering, "If I don't have that first feeling of being drawn to it and excited about it, why would I go there?" You can simply listen to your heart and it will say to you, "Let's go here, and let's not go there."
