Spring Intention

Mar 26, 2023

Video Summary:

Happy spring! This is the second video of a two-part series that I'm doing on the Spring Equinox. While this video stands on its own, if you do want to go back and check out the first one, you can go here.

Springtime is in the east in the Medicine Wheel which is where we create our new lives. It is a dynamic time. Moving into the Medicine Wheel is not a passive thing. We're intentionally creating a new life. And this creation of the new is the most important thing to accomplish in the spring.

Last week we worked with receiving our vision to determine what we want to create. I talked about meditation, listening to our dreams, spiritual inquiry, what I'm drawn to, and what's coming to us- all ways to receive our vision. So now this week is phase two where we offer our intention.

When we offer an intention, it creates a partnership with life and spirit. It's saying to Life, Spirit, God, or the universe, “Let's partner up and create this thing together.”

So from the vision and information that you have received and the things you want to create, you can craft an intention that takes the vision, boils it down, and refines it into a clear intention.

Offering an intention is a very deliberate thing. It's not passive. It's saying, "Life, of all the things that I could create this year, I want to create this with you. I'm committing to this. I'm taking my resources, focus, and intention, and putting my eggs in this basket to create this in my life."

You can offer your intention in a number of ways. You can create your own ceremony. You can sit out in your backyard or go out in nature and, light a little sage just say, I would like to create a new relationship, or I would like to find a spiritual community to be part of because that is important to me right now.

An intention has a level of commitment to it. You're saying for the next while in my life, I am willing to work on this. It's saying that I'm willing to breathe life into this. I'm willing to work with this. I'm willing to look at the fears, resistance, and blocks that may present themselves to you along the way.

At first, your intention may not have any form. It may just be wanting to have a spiritual community without knowing where it's going to be or a relationship without knowing who it's going to be with. We’re saying I want a new relationship with certain qualities. You might want companionship, collaboration, passion, trust, and honesty.

Intentions have qualities or elements but may not have any form yet. That is yet to be determined. In fact, sometimes the best intentions have no form. They have the substance of what you want to create and yet have the freedom and flexibility to come in different forms.
